In November, the NRA mocked the medical community for speaking out against gun violence, telling health care providers to "stay in their lane." Of course, that tweet spectacularly backfired, inspiring thousands of medical professionals to speak up and advocate for commonsense gun violence prevention policies.
Yesterday, as part of its seventh annual luncheon, they shared this video that highlights the fact that gun violence is everybody's lane. Take a look. (click on above)
The luncheon featured two incredible speakers: Dr. Joseph Sakran, founder of the @ThisIsOurLane Twitter account, and Fred Guttenberg, father of Jaime Guttenberg, who was one of the 17 murdered in Parkland last year. Please watch and share their deeply personal stories.
More than 1,000 gun violence prevention advocates showed up to support the lifesaving work that is planned for this year and beyond. If you were unable to join in person, I'm asking you to be a part of the biggest fundraising event of the year by making a generous online donation today.
