Did you have a fun holiday, SUPPORTER?
I feel so blessed because mine was spent with family, enjoying what could only be described as a picture-perfect day at the beach. While Independence Day is a time we barbecue with friends and watch the night light up with fireworks, it’s also a time to honor those before us whose leadership gave rise to the great country we are lucky enough to call home.
I view BWTE much the same way, as it is the fortitude of extraordinary supporters that has enabled our Organization to successfully serve the City of Angels for 6 incredible years. Though many of you may know our wonderful founder and administrative staff, what you may not know is much of our work is accomplished because of the dedication and guidance of our LA Board of Directors
For the last four years, we’ve been fortunate to have Eric Devezin as our Founder of BWTE. His passion for our work and drive to strengthen our impact helped us achieve milestones. We’ve reached a historic high for membership to support almost 67,000 children in realizing their potential in spirit, mind and body. As well, we set a new record for our teen-self esteem workshop enrollment, as more than 200 kids will not only be stranger danger-safe this summer, but also will have gained the confidence and discipline for success beyond the classroom. Our “Go Summer” teen initiative is also doing phenomenally well, welcoming more than 600 teens to the groups podcast-- live interaction so they can enjoy a free membership while staying active and engaged throughout the summer.
As we celebrated the 4th of July thanks to the leadership of others, I’m inspired by how far BWTE has come because of the volunteerism of Eric, Kyle and the superb leaders who have served with and before them.
